dir-855 + dwl-g700 as repeater
« on: January 05, 2010, 04:29:04 PM »

hello,
i have a wifi network - dir-855 (wpa, wifi enabeled only 2.4ghz)
- 2 APs that are working as repeaters - (dir-855 wifi selected as repeated wifi, wpa key of dir855 wifi)

initially i have used the APs as AP, but i want to remove the dead time between passing from router wifi to ap wifi so i have choose repeater mode..but...
the problem is that i feel the pass between router coverage area and the repeater area.(there is a delay time about 5 sec) -

<<please note that the router wifi coverage and the repeaters coverage are intersecting each others about 50% --

aaaaAPararrrRrrraraAPaaaaa

AP - repeater
R  - router
aa - repeater area
rr  - router area
arar- common area  >>>

i have tested the wifi with an hp dv9700 win7 ultimate, and 2 portable touch panels that are using as OS winXP embedded. - in all this cases i have expected the same dead time in passing from router to repeater.

what do i miss in this configuration?

thank you for your time,
bogdan
