Please wait... Downloading settings
« on: December 07, 2009, 06:05:55 AM »

Over the weekend I installed a second hardrive into my DNS-323 and decided to upgrade to the latest beta firmware and set the HDD's to RAID1. Both of the HDD's are the same models (Samsung EcoGreen F2 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 32MB Cache)

I reset the device to the factory settings, upgraded the firmware and then formatted the drives to RAID1 Ext2. All this was fine, i then installed the Bittorrent client but when i go to the settings page it show "Please wait... Downloading settings." It doesn't matter how long i leave it on this page the settings never download.

If i try to add a torrent then it doesn't add it to the list.

I've tried resetting the device again to the default settings, formatting the hardrives as JBOD and installing the 1.07 firmware but still when i go to the bittorrent page is shows "Please wait... Downloading settings."

I've accessed the settings in both IE and Firefox and its the same in both.

Anyone got some ideas as i'm tearing my hear out !

The trick is, as soon as you install the Bitorrent app (or any app in the BETA firmware), you have to reboot/restart the NAS....

It always work on me :)

I rebooted the Nas after installing the Bit-torrent client but it still showed the Please wait... Downloading settings.

I'll try that again when i get home later.

Did you reset the unit to factory defaults?

On version 1.07 I reset the device to the default factory settings.

Upgraded to V 1.08b08 and restarted the device. I then reset the device to the default factory settings again and formatted the HDD’s to RAID 1 EXT3 (998mb) with Auto-Rebuild Enabled and restarted the device.
I then used Easy Search to install BT on Volume_1 and restarted the device.

When I go to the Bit-torrent screen its showing the same message Please wait... Downloading settings.

Finally managed to get the Bittorrent working.

When i first upgraded to V1.08 before installed the second HDD i installed the addon for Bittorrent.

So i thought i wonder what would happen if i installed it again now i'm on V1.08  and Bittorrent has started to work.

Looks like the addon might have changed some settings which the original bittorrent is unable to change.

Not sure if thats a bug !
