Testing router speed?
« on: December 07, 2009, 07:10:45 PM »

I would love to know if there is a tool out there that will measure the speed between my DIR-825 router and a wireless N device connected to the network. Meaning, how do I test if I'm getting near the 300mbps speeds... (or just in general). Anything on the router itself?

Ideally I would love to test this also for wired connections between my computer and the DNS-321 I have connected on my network...

Thanks!

Have a look at Iperf, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iperf

If you measure throughput from a gigabit connected pc to a wireless connected pc you should get an indication of the speed.
