DIR-825 + DSL-2320b + Verizon DSL (DHCP) = Need Help!
« on: December 24, 2009, 01:06:08 PM »

If anybody has managed to get the DSL-2320b modem working with a Verizon DSL DHCP connection (Northern Virginia), please tell me what I need to do to get this working.

My goal is to eventually have the DSL-2320b connected to the DIR-825 (I purchased both products_ but I can't get the 2320b to work at all.

I currently have a Verizon issued Westell 6100 router/modem.

When I connect the DSL-2320b to the phone line, the DSL line goes to a steady green but it won't get an IP issued.  I tried connecting only my laptop to the 2320 and cloning the Westell MAC address, but that still doesn't work.

The settings I'm using are 0/35 for VCE/VCP, PCR of 100.  I'm not really sure what the "encapsulation" is supposed to be, but there are only two choices and I've tried them both.

There doesn't seem to be a choice to clone a MAC address in the modem (2320), I assume that the cloning must occur in the laptop and eventually the router... but lets leave the router out for now.  I would be happy to just get the modem working with my laptop just to prove it works!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
