Okay - being good-looking and a whiz with PC's obviously isn't enough. I bought into the hype that suggested I could make & receive free Internet calls from any Wi-Fi hotspot (and with my own router) with the DPH-540. oops.
According to the nice man @ D-Link Canada, it seems that I must first register & pay for "an unrestricted SIP account".
Um...what?!
I know - I know...in a day or two I will be up to speed on all this, but right now tonight I'm wondering if I pulled the trigger a bit too fast when I bought the little clamshell. (FWIW, the regular price was listed in various locations at U$157 to $250+ and I got it for $79.)
I've written to a few online agencies that appear to be offering this mysterious access plan...but it's Friday evening, and...well...
Did I screw up? Should I return it un-opened?
