Set it on the Router, much less work.  Keep the Windows machines as DHCP.  If you have no B wireless items use the G and N option.  The set DHCP reservation is what you want to use.

Okay well, I decided to do factory default. Then I changed dns to OpenDNS and set all of my windows machines under DHCP reservation. I also made the wireless mode to 'G and N' option since I don't have any B wireless items. I made sure Advanced DNS was off and also turned off QOS. I did not change anything else (not even the time, I kept the time what it already was after factory default). After about 40 hours of stability, it crashed once again.

This time, I even took off my Motorola router entirely. I had the following 4 things connected to the Dir-655:

Computer A
Computer B
Computer C
Alvoi Phone Adapter

Once again, things started to slow down before it crashed entirely. Finally, it crashed. When it had crashed, I pinged my router's ip and cable modem's ip. I received all packets back from cable modem but nothing from router at all. Only way to fix it is by resetting everything

Update:

I also thought I should try the latest 1.35NA firmware so I put that on about 2 hours ago (used to be 1.32NA). I will see if that helps at all. It's been good so far (had wireless going and computers all at once, no crash or slowdown yet). This is pretty much the last thing I can really try that may or may not help from what everyone mentioned in the rest of the thread.

Under advanced wireless is your enable extra protection checked or unchecked?

One of the last updates:

After updating firmware, it seemed to have become a lot more stable until it crashed again on Monday. I pulled out the 2nd router (Motorola one that I got from Vonage), and tried the Ativa router in place of the Motorola one. Again it crashed every 5 minutes so I took out the Ativa one too. Nothing has crashed at all since Monday when I took out the Motorola/Ative out. I think I may have figured out where the problem is. It crashes only when I connect another router to D-Link.. Most likely it is not the Motorola router or Ativa since I tried them both separately; same issues. Then I realized that the one constant was the Allvoi Phone Adapter. Every single time that my D-Link crashed, it was with the Allvoi Phone Adapter connected. It is terrible and screws up my whole network when another router is on the network. With 4 computers in the house, I don't have a choice but to add another router...

Are there any other decent VOIP services I could switch to? Vonage costs $25, Verizon landline is like $30 without any long-distance phone. Is Vonage the best one in that range? I hate how Vonage throws on mandatory extra costs after saying it is only $25 per month to bring the prices up ($2.89 a month for 911? $1.99 regulatory fees? $2.91 for some federal program fee? Seriously?). False advertisement.  :-[

If you never heard about ooma I would suggest you give it a look. You can buy them from Costco too which I think then qualifies for unlimited return thing in case it ever breaks or they go out of business. Around 200 for the base unit, then around $3.50  a month for basic service which includes long distance and caller id number. Ive had them for around half a year and once all the kinks were worked out its been pretty nice.

@ Bladefd
Glad you found the cause of the issue.

I've been using MajikJack for a while now. No issues. Not sure if thats something you'd want to research. Works good for me and cheap.
