D-ViewCam 3.0 and Temporary Files size and location
« on: June 28, 2010, 12:48:14 AM »

Hello

Configuration:
-one computer with 40GB HDD (30GB free space) with Windows XP PRO, SP3 and two 500GB HDD for camera records.
-one DSC-2120, two DSC-910 IP cameras.

I have the following problem with DViewCam 3.0: the two 500GB drives are full with recordings and are now recycling space (i've setup the recycle space to 5GB). The 40GB drive, keeps getting full with some temporary files, and i'm sure that they come from D-ViewCam software (when i shut down the software the free diskspace increases). Unfortunatelly i don't know where the temporary files are located the directories keeps being the same size as before starting the DViewCam software. I can only see that the free disk space is lower and lower by the minute.
YEs, i have read the post here:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=10872.0
and i do have NOD 32 AntiVirus. I disabled it, but the problem is still the same.

What can i do to preserve the diskspace on drive with the OS, maby to fix the temp file size of DViewCam software or is there a way to tell NOD 32 to not scan the DViewCam files, because they don't show anywhere on the drive?

Thank you in advance,
Cosmin C.

This issue is caused from NOD32. In not sure what option you can choose on there but if removed I'm sure the issue will go away. I have seen this with NOD32 quite a few times. I would recommend contacting support for NOD32 and see what option you have.

This is the answer that ESET support team provided:

"(...) what are the names of the TMP files? HTT* or NOD*.tmp? If it is HTT*.tmp put the camera software in protocol filtering to exclusions and try again.

Or, is it possible to find out through what path the data is transfered to the camera, and then exclude it from scanning in Web access protection -> HTTP -> Address management ? (...)"

Following this, i have excluded the address group 192.168.0.* (all my DLink Cams are from this address group)

Problem is solved,
