Upgrading Firmware
« on: December 28, 2009, 07:00:06 AM »

I just received the 323 for a gift and have 2 750 gig WD Green drives coming on Wednesday.  My question is should I upgrade the firmware to 1.07 before I put the drives in? or install the drives and then upgrade?

Thanks

Do the firmware upgrade first.

So the unit will operate with no drives in it then for the upgrade? I haven't plugged it in yet.

It should, at least more recent firmware versions.  I've had mine fired up with no drives and accessed the web interface configuration screens.

What's the worst that can happen?  You connect it up, and the interface is not accessible. :D
