I was updating the firmware of one of our DIR-451 via Browser (Using Cable), while updating, the browser stopped responding and posted an error that it has to close. After the error I can no longer access the unit and I think its busted, I can no longer access its GUI, even if I do the reset procedure.  Is there a way to install the firmware other than the access the GUI via browser or similar to Linksys tftp utility?

Hi,
I just updated my firmware to the beta version now i cant access teh GUI either. I wish i had heeded the warning about it might not work and D-link hold no responsibility it it bu66ers up your router.
Any ideas on how to revert back to old firmware?

Managed to get GUI up but just sits there with user as admin showing and a nbox to type in password but no buttons to press to go any further just a few ":" dotted around??

I hope your problems have been fixed but in case not or for the next person to have the same problem.
You can try using the "failsafe" mode.

1. Turn off DIR-451
2. Hold Reset Buton
3. Turn ON the power and continue holding reset button for a further 10-12 seconds
4. Let go of the button and attempt to log in to the web config http://192.168.0.1
5. You will be redirected to the Firmware Recovery page which will allow you to load the older version again.

This procedure does work.

I had notice this router cannot be update any new version firmware.
It only can be use on 1.02_WW.

I am currently running FW 1.03 and have tested several other beta firmware without too may problems, other than having to run the failsafe mode once.

After i change my gateway to 192.168.1.1,manage to upgrade fireware to 1.03.
