Ok, I was so happy to find out that D-Link had a bridge I could use with the 655 (I love that router!)...but for some reason, unlike the 655, I'm completely lost reading the manual.
Some please spare some time to help a noob through this
Goal: Just bought my first ever LCD and Blue-Ray player and want to connect them to the internet to stream Netflix, etc. My Wii already has a wireless built in so I don't think I need to connect it.
What I already have: DIR-655 router and it works fabulously! I have it set to use WPA mode: Auto (WPA or WPA2) and Cypher type: AES.
There is either a lot of implied knowledge expected or I am simply a networking idiot. So please help me with the following (sorry, but I have A LOT of questions and tech support made me cry it was so horrid). I don't want to have to go online and date a tech guy just to get this to work!
1) I bought the 1522 from NewEgg but seems this one is at 1.10 firmware so I'd like to update that. Is there a way to update the firmware before everything is setup and running and if so, how? I am confused if I need to connect the 1522 directly to the DSL modem, or can it connect via cable to my router as it says to not upgrade the firmware using wireless. It seems the fastest way to just upgrade the firmware first is to connect it to my router with a cable, set the bridge to AP mode, and then enter 192.168.0.50 in an IE browser?
2) Assuming my firware is now upgraded, do I want to connect to my 655 as a bridge or AP connection? I Googled both but still don't really understand which I want

I'm guessing it's as a bridge?
3) I notice my router has this 'WPS' button I think and so does the 1522.
Assuming I want bridge, is the easiest way to get them going is to press both buttons as the quick guide suggests? And only if that doesn't work, I go in and manually set it up
I'd hate to return this as I have no other options to consider that make me happy but calling tech support again makes me worried

THANKS in advance for helping me....!
