Norton's 360 kill my wireless conectivity.
« on: January 02, 2010, 10:58:25 AM »

I had been using my DIR655 with no problems until I upgraded my Norton 360, after that I have not been able to install any laptop to the router, all three laptops that had been previously working are not able to connect. I have been overseas for a while and just return, got on this forum to see if anyone has had the same problem but I could not find it in the forum, any help would be greatly appreciated.

get rid of Norton...

By the way : Norton does not asffect a router directly. It only affects the PC on which it is installed.

I agree with the get rid of Norton.  Their stuff has been overbloated for many years.

besides the bloatware, Norton might just block the LAN.

I do not know about 360 but the 2009 versions of Norton AV and Norton AV Gaming Edition are the lowest on resources you can find. I test AV's and those two products averaged 8 to 10 Mb usage with only two processes running.
Go find reviews on the 2009 Norton line and you will see this is true.

It sounds like you have not gone into Norton and established the other computers, printers and the dlink router as trusted devices.  If you don't do this, you can't access the internet nor the other resources on your WAN.  I use Norton 360 for all of the computers on my WAN for over a year and they work fine.  I have XP as well as Vista 64 bit computers, a wireless HP printer and a Linksys Gaming Wireless N box for my son's xbox 360.
