Can't connect an I-Pod I-touch
« on: January 03, 2010, 02:45:40 PM »

Trying to connect my I-Pod I-Touch to the DIR-655. It sees it but the password doesn't work. It is set up as WPA right now. What do I bneed to do on the I-Pod side?

I've connected both of my kids' Ipod Touch's - you shouldn't have to do anything special - just make sure you are typing in the password correctly.  It's easy to make a mistake since you only see the last character you typed, the previous ones are changed to dots.

Also if you're using Network lock or MAC address filering, make sure you turn them off before linking, then back on again, and include the new MAC address in the Allow list.

Did you get it to work?  I have my new iPod Touch 3G set up with WPA2/AES and it works great.  I'd go with Flagman's first hunch; it's 'probably' a bad password.

"seems they are not N mode capable"

You mean the iPod?  Nope, the iPod is B/G only.  The 3G ipod Touches now have an N capable chip, but Apple hasn't decided to enable that mode yet.  Maybe in a future software release.

I have my router set to G/N only, auto 20/40 mode.  That seems to cover just about everything produced recently anyway.

I am using the same settings as you are, and I have no problems. Let's hope they enable the "N' capability! It will probably be a "pay" upgrade on the Touch though.
