MW2 Setup Help Please
« on: January 05, 2010, 02:11:43 AM »

I had a ****py netgear router before that a roomate bought...I don't even know what model it was but it was wireless G...so I wanted to upgrade and now I can't play COD MW2 on my PC...I keep getting the message "Connecting to IWNET" but it never connects...with the old router it connected all the time no problem.

So I went into the router settings and forwarded the ports...also upgraded the firmware (even though a lot of people said it maybe shouldn't be upgraded but customer service won't even talk to me unless it is upgraded) and now I still can't play.  I have even tried putting my PC in the DMZ to no avail...I don't know what to do except maybe return the router and get a different brand?  Here is a screenshot of what I did to open the ports that I need opened for the game to work supposedly according to STEAM.

Thanks for any help!  P.S.  The Xbox360 is hooked up wired to the router and it works better than ever with MW2.

I have tried seeing if these ports are open but they aren't showing up as open...I don't know what to do anymore...I'm running Win7

You are in the wrong section of the router for opening up ports properly.

It's Advanced -> Gaming.
