uPNP Service - Prescan excludes symbolic links.

I have two disks in my DNS-321.  I use FW 1.03.  I created a symbolic link from one disk to the path that is used for media import.  When prescan executes and catalogues all the media to host for streaming it specificly excludes the symbolic links (even though it can see them).  Why is this and is there a work around (besides copying files to physical path)?  If no work around then I'd like to request the feature enhancement.
