How do you release upnp
« on: January 24, 2010, 06:45:15 AM »

How do you release upnp, on the status page it still shows upnp port used by
these ip addresses even after the computers switch off. Does this mean that the ports are still open. Also when the computers restart with another ip address the ports are not shown for the new address.
Teredo 192.168.1.102 58374 58374 UDP
Teredo 192.168.1.101 57999 57999 UDP
Skype UDP at 192.168.1.100:443 (1118) 192.168.1.100 443 443 UDP
Skype TCP at 192.168.1.100:443 (1118) 192.168.1.100 443 443 TCP
Also will there be any firmware updates for this router

So far the only way to clear upnp is to reboot the router. Or turn it off which is stupid. Also then you have to reset the timing for the harddrive or it will not goto sleep.  :'( I found other software will clear upnp ports it is using. but these two, which skype and window 7 do not. See below.

I ask Microsoft why windows 7 does not clear upnp and they could not give an answer. But utorrent and vuze both clear the upnp  ports. It would help if the router would clear them as each time windows logs on it open another port.

It seems that in the new F/W 2.0 the lease for opened uPNP ports is timed and hence times out after a day or so if not used and then is removed off the list. Disconnected or powered down LAN clients still remain listed even after their DHCP lease has expired with F/W 2.0.

It still does not clear upnp ports, I have found a way to stop windows 7 opening teredo see below:-
In case you want to disable those ports, you may have to follow these commands.
1. Click Start
2. Type 'cmd' in the search box (short cut windows key r)
3. and enter these commands
netsh
interface
teredo
set state disabled
This came from microsoft. But still does not help with the other ports.
