hey all!
brand new to this forum, but I am desperate for an answer!!!
I have a new 825 which i just installed into an environment with 3 wireless desktops running Windows 7, 4 laptops all the same model purchased on the same day and one notebook running WinXP as well as an older desktop running a small peer to peer file sharing network, not wireless. The first thing I did was update the firmware like a good little teckkie. I then configured my network, set up both bands, hard-coded my dns numbers, and connected. the file sharing pc has not once dropped it's connection. the Win7 machines have been online ever since i configured them, and the notebook has not had any issues either. All 4 of the Vista machines refuse to stay connected, and 1 refuses to even connect saying something about low signal while showing 5 bars. I took one of them home and it sat connected online all night to the cisco router i have at home. i brought it back to the office and it won't connect to the 825 setup there.
I also tried to set up a print server which was a terrible waste of my time. AS LONG as i left it connected to the router, it worked, but the printer can't sit in the closet! when i set the PS up in the office it needs to be in, NO ONE can even see it and it can't be seen from the xp box connected to the router. I have triple checked all of the MAC addresses on my list and they are all correct.
If this has been addressed, i am sorry for the re-thread. Please help, i am feeling at a loss but i have no qualms about replacing this 2 week old device!
sneaker-net anyone?
thanks!
