Windows Media Player wont "see" DNS-321
« on: February 06, 2010, 11:49:02 AM »

I am running the release version of Windows 7 and WMP12 (Windows Media Player 12).

I can see the UPnP service running on the DNS-321 in WMP however I cannot connect with the error "The remote media library did not allow the connection,  Please contact the device manufacturer for more information."  I can successfully connect to the UPnP service from my XBMC running on my Apple TV.

I found a reference to the problem in the DNS-323 Forum, but no solution and no posts for quite a while.  I am starting a new thread here.

Any suggestions/solutions?

This function currently is not supported with WMP12 and the DNS-321 UPnP AV media server.

Which has to be updated for it to work?  DNS-321 or WMP 12?  Is there an ETA for upgrade if DNS-321?

The DNS-321 will require and update to the UPnP AV media server which is in plan, however I do not have a ETA at this time.

Haven't seen the D-Link reps around for quite some time, maybe they forgot this forum exists. :)

That's odd, D-Link didn't turn down my money when I bought a DNS-321 a few weeks ago.  ::)
