Unable to connect wirelss G to 615

I have a DIR 615 (behind a Verizon FIOS modem) and while wireless N works ok, cannot get my wireless G to connect (three separate laptops all failing) - says "authenticating" while obtaining an i/p address, but nothing beyond that. Tried setting the encryption to "AES", but not sure what else to try.

All wired connections work OK.

Hardware:C1 and firmware:3.11NA.
Any thoughts appreciated.

did you setup your dir-615 in mixed g/n mode? you need to do that. Also, I would recommend WPA 2 so you can bypass that authentification issue.

Thanks for your response.

I tried what you suggested but it won't let me save the settings.

Any ideas why?

I'm really getting fed up with this.  >:(

Edit:

Ok I manage to get it saved. I had to get into the router via 191.168.0.1 in order to save the configuration.

I now can get internet access with dlink usb recievers wua1340 and dwa-125. However I'm still having the same problems using Netgear wpn111v2 adapter.

good to hear that you made some progress. Another thing, did you setup your security to WPA2? I had the issue with windows and authentification before I changed to WPA2 (which includes AES).

There is a way to work around the authentification in the properties of the adapter. You have to uncheck the box in the options. Look it up on the internet, I am sure you can find a walkthrough for that.

Yes I did do that. It seems to fix the issue with the wua1340 and dwa125.
