Slow & dis-connecting copies of large files to NAS devices
« on: February 24, 2010, 02:01:54 PM »

Ok, copying / moving files to different NAS devices starts out okay, after a minute it goes from 20MB/S down to about 14k/ sec and a minute or so more says that the specified network location is no longer available. this mostly happenbs for large files which are a few 100 mb. Small files go okay (ie. mp3).

When speed starts to degrade, (ie moving from 20 MB/S down to 14k/sec), listing files and visitting the NAS webpage is extremely slow as well. As half the time does not work at all.

Oh and this is for a WIRED connection.

I have tried the following

- Different DIR-655 Firmware (running 1.33NA, 1.32NA)
- Different NAS devices (Dlink DNS 343, Thecus N4100pro)
- gigabit Switch (dlink) in between router and all devices (NAS + PC)
- Factory reset router number of times
- Tera Copy
- PCs with 10/100 NIC and PCs with 10/100/1000 NIC
- Different PCs, NetBooks, Laptops with following O/S (fresh installs):
    1. Windows XP SP 3
    2. Windows Vista 32 bit
    3. Windows Vista 64 Bit
    4. Windows 7 32 bit
    5. Windows 7 64 Bit

Ok this has been driving me nuts............
