Question,  In looking at what i am doing i guess i am downgrading back to 10/100 right because of the NIC that is in the Desktop correct?  So I will need to upgrade my NIC in the desktop right?


ANy Suggestions for a NIC?

PoE is moving AC current over Ethernet cable (CAT 5/6)

Just a small clarification...

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is transmitting DC voltage and data over the same Ethernet cable.

Power Line Communication (PLC) is transmitting data over a conductor also used for electrical power transmission.

Correct. Also the ethernet being used must be CAT5e por better.
As for the NIC, take a look at the DGE-530T. Reasonably priced Gig nic. We also have a PCIe Version, DGE-560T I believe.

Well--I am finally set up with my D-link Family.

My Setup--is Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Computer 1-Desktop hooked directly in with Gig NIC into CAT6 cable to my DIR 655...SWEET!!!

Computer 2-Latop with DIR 652 downstairs living room.

Hmmm --You Tell Me !!!!!

What I dont still understand is If I set the Router to be "N" only why does it still say "ng"?

Probably a small bug in the firmware. I'll see if i can replicate.
