DGL- 4500 uTorrent Seeding "unlimited" Issue.
« on: March 14, 2010, 03:26:53 PM »

Okay, a NEW problem has arisen. I have been experiencing when a Torrent download is completed and when I start the seeding. The router will seriously lag out and it will go offline. I noticed that the O.L.E.D will flash letting me know it has went offline. I will only experience these issues while seeding Unlimited, but if I lower the seed down to 15KB/s it will run okay. Is there anyone experiencing this problem ?

Using uTorrent 2.0 (build 18488)

Seriously about to return this product back, giving me nothing but headaches !!!! RMA !!!! ??? ??? ??? ???

What firmware are you running on the DGL-4500?

Who is your Internet Provider?

What about, say throttling the upload to 25KB/s?

How many peers are you letting connect to you during seeding?

hmm, right now its throttled at 135 kb/s which is not bad, Global maximum number of connection 450 and Maximum number of connected peers per torrent: 100 and the number of upload slots is set to 6. My ISP is Timewarner Roadrunner, have there fastest connection (roadrunner). And the Firmware is 1.22NA

rileyper - What Torrent program are you using?

Four2zero - Have you tried another Torrent program?

I use Vuze and and old version of Mainline BitTorrent 4. No issues.

No, that's one thing that has not come to my mind of using other clients. I will go ahead and try out the 2nd best client I think is BitComet & Vuze (formerly aka: Azurus) all though it is a memory hog as well, but will test it with other apps. Let you know how it goes.

Okay, i have switched from a motorola surfboard SB5100 to a Cisco 2100 cable modem. And since then I have been seeding successfully....so it appears that the Motorola surfboard SB5100 model is hendering the performance of the DGL-4500, in my opinion....that is. Every thing is good.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ahhh, I doabt that actually. Sorry. Its probably more likly comcast was throttling and when you swapped modem the counter was reset. A cable modem is too dumb to be able to block a port, nevermind dynamically restrict it. It would be like your toaster not toasting wheat, but being fine with white. But besides that, I have used 5101, 5120 and 6120 personally and seeded just fine. Glad you were able to fix it though. ::thumbs up::
