Connecting PS3 - Having Trouble
« on: March 14, 2010, 04:18:08 PM »

Hello, I am new to the forum and new to a D-Link product. I was running a Netgear g router and had no troubles with the PS3. Connected without any problems. I upgraded to the DIR-655 because my new laptop has wireless n capability. I installed the DIR-655 on the other computer that is wired to the router. I ran the install software and am using the WEP encryption. My laptop was up and running in less than an hour without any problems. I then went to the PS3. It sees the SSID for the DIR-655. I tried to connect and the PS3 does not get to the point of asking for the security code. I tried this a couple of times, even with both computers shut down and no PS3 connection. I then hooked the old Netgear g router to the DIR-655 and went to the PS3 and it recognized it right away. Any suggestions?? I can use the PS3 as it is but since all my music on photos are on an aux hard drive connected to the laptop I cannot access them on the PS3 as I did prior to the DIR-655 being installed. I will take any helpful suggestions. Thanks all.

Hi,

I would use WPA/WPA2 rather than WEP.....  Use AES cipher...consult the stickie for achieving 300Mbps wirelessly....

Might have some of the wireless settings enabled or disabled as the case may be....  One for me was:  under Advanced Wireless settings to uncheck the WLAN Partition box....save and reboot the router....

Also if you aren't using Securespot, disable it..dependsing on your firmware version....
