DGS-1016D Power Supply
« on: March 16, 2010, 07:21:24 PM »

hello i have a problem with my dlink switch. its is a model DGS-1016D. the power supply in the switch has become faulty. i have tested the switch itself using a 9.6v battery and the switch works fine but i need a new power supply for it.

question is, whats the output voltage of the internal power supply. the input voltage says its 100-240v and 1amp max current. since i got the switch working from a 9.6v battery im guessing im close to or probably at the correct working voltage for the switch. most other dlink switches that use an external power supply work in the 7.5v-12v range.

if i knew the actual output voltage of the internal power supply i could make a replacement supply which would not risk damaging the switch itself.

below is a picture of the power supply that has gone faulty.

thanks

I have a PS in my parts box that looks the same at a cursory glance.  With one exception, mine has a label stating output on the main capacitor.  I can't say that I know this is the right PS (I have no idea where this PS came from), and any information is at your own risk, but this may help.

I would have just told you the text of the label, but this way I get a chance to pawn the proper ID off on you.

I have 2 switches DGS-1016D & DGS-1024D which both use the same type PSU (230V in, 12V 3.3Amp OUT)

I want to replace the PSU by using a power adapter (12V, 3,3Amp) and simply connecting a female jack to the power input at the switch print board.

Can anyone tell me what voltages i have to connect to the 4 cables connected to the print board? i have 2 yellow and 2 black. i suppose the 2 yellow are 2 x 12V & the 2 black are 2 x gnd?

If anyone has a dead PSU that they'd like to get rid of i'd appreciate it.
