dns-321 + iTunes Server = "Refreshing: 0%" and never changes
« on: March 17, 2010, 05:30:57 PM »

On my dns-321, I pick Advanced + iTunes Server and all I see on the page is "Refreshing: 0%" and this never changes. Is there some option I need to turn off for it to work? Or something I need to turn on?

Environment: 2 2TB drives in Raid-1, Windows Vista trying to access with Firefox and/or IE.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Try pointing it at an individual album folder and going bit by bit. It may be getting caught on a corrupt ID3 tag.

The entire area where the example pictures shows lots of options is blank, except for a "0%"
This value never changes. It just sits there and does nothing at this point. The browser is done updating. See pic attached.

What browser is that?

Also have you tried resetting to defaults? Where is the initial iTunes window that shows the enable / disable toggle as well as the Browse button and path? Does it default to just showing 0% status bar as soon as you click on the iTunes Server tab in the GUI?

I get the same output in Firefox and Internet Explorer. This is what I see immediately after I press the "iTunes Server" tab. Therefore I am unable to set anything else.

I just used the GUI to shutdown the DNS-321. Then I manually turned the power back on.
Same message, nothing changed.

Any other ideas?

Did you try the suggestion of resetting to factory defaults?

I've copied over 1TB of data to this 2TB Raid-1 setup... the last thing I want to do is ruin that data.
What all does resetting it to factory defaults do? Does it reset the disks in any way?

Okay, okay, I did the factory reset and the iTunes options re-appeared. It is "refreshing" now at at 42%.

Thank you to everyone for your support!

It's amazing how many ills the factory reset cures. ;)

I have the DNS-321 working great with iTunes now. It is excellent.

My thanks to the developers of this technology!

I had the same problem and the only solution was to reset to factory settings.

IMPORTANT (although obvious for most): Save your configuration settings to your computer beforehand so you can restore them easily. => TOOLS > SYSTEM > CONFIGURATION SETTINGS
