Good info folks.
Before loading FW v1.08, my 323 went into Sleep/Hibernation according to the time I set -- just as it should. After loading v1.08 none of the Hibernation time settings work. Seems like I recall a previous firmware version that didn't shutdown the drives but the next version corrected it.
As previously mentioned, disconnecting the network cable is a good way to determine if LAN activity is keeping the drives from shutting-down. I did that with the Turn-Off time set to 5 minutes. Twenty minutes, the drives have not shutdown.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, I thought that LAN activity that did not access the HDs would not prevent the shutdown function from working. In any event, after 20+ minutes with the LAN cable disconnected from the 323, the drives are still spinning well passed the 5-minute shutdown setting.
I suppose the next thing to do is a full reset and then return to factory defaults followed by manual reentry of the settings. Does that mean the users, FTP settings, etc. as well? That would be painful. I'd need to make screen shots of all pages with settings?
Thanks for any help.
