hi there,

I seem to not be able to do the 'reset to factory defaults' function and it hasn't worked since 1.31 (yes I've even tried with the button doing the hard-reset), it ALWAYS reverts my advanced settings to what my settings were since 1.21 and I regret ever upgrading since than...

Whenever i try to change my settings, it reverts back to my 1.21 settings in a day or two... I have flashed and reflashed so many times since than between different versions to no avail, I don't know how to fix it, and I am certainly not going to pay another 100+ bucks for another router... someone please help!!

How about using the reset button on the back of the device?

hi, yes I've even done the  reset at the back of the device.

I think it may have something to do with when I first did a 'restore configuration from file' of a 1.21 once i upgraded to 1.31... for some reason the router thinks that THAT is my factory settings...

Try reflashing with 1.33, see what happens. It sounds like an incomplete flash. Reflash through a wired connection (I hope this is not a necessary tip)

Hi, thanks for the tip, I think I solved it!  :D

Here's what I did:
  • I was able to downgrade to 1.21 (using the downgrade method via 1.31RU version),
  • I than I reset to factory defaults (the factory defaults work correctly in 1.21 & 1.31RU)
  • than I took a snapshot of its default settings (gateway_settings.gws file)
  • updated firmware back to 1.31 (the factory defaults were STILL corrupted)
  • than i used the gateway_settings.gws file from 1.21, and voila! factory defaults working correctly now!! woot!!

Well done.
Just reconfigure manually after a firmware update. The restore feature just  does not work well.
