Problems with DIR 655
« on: April 03, 2010, 03:44:12 PM »

Some months ago, my router 655 stoped working. Only the power light was on, so I took it to a repair center and they couldn't fix it as it was not on warranty time anymore. So I bought another DIR 655, used it for one month, but the shareport was not working, so I upgraded the firmware yesterday to 1.33. Everything was ok in the upgrade, but some minutes ago, it showed the same problem as the other one. Only the power light was on. I'm using a linksys router now, searching for the causes of this problem.
Do you know what could have happend?

Thank you
(sorry for my bad english)

Hi,

Are you using the very same power wart on both routr attempts ?  I know its often overlooked because its a hassle opening up a new power wart and re-running the wire in tight spaces.... But it can be critical.

I run my power wart off my battery backup so the electrical power is presumed more stable (on my part).

Have you used a different router ever on that LAN wiring ?  Maybe you have a bad ethernet adapter someplace killing things....
