Help...wireless=18 MB, wired = 1MB.....
« on: April 10, 2010, 10:13:55 PM »

Just looking for a direction here, after spending the last 2 hrs on the phone with DLink to no avail....the problem in a nutshell is, when a device is hooked directly to the router, the download speed is less than 1 MB, if you put a 5 port switch in between, the speed is 18MB, which is what the wireless speed is...any ideas, already have the latest firmware update, Dlink had me change the MTU from 1500 to 1492, it did nothing....Thanks......

Advanced setup

Advanced network

WAN speeed=take it off AUTO and set it to the speed of your NIC card.

ALSO, be sure and go into your workstationNIC card hardware setup (latest drivers too) and examine the settings as far as speed and negotiation.

Try changing until it works properly.  Sounds like a cheap NIC card or a defective one.

Also, make sure you have a high quality cat5+ cable.  No junk cables.
