httpS configuration?
« on: February 21, 2008, 03:02:06 AM »

Hello,

1) Is there a way to access the DIR-655's configuration page, using HTTPS, and have the DIR-655 either turn off, or redirect, HTTP access to HTTPS instead?

2) Also, what are the maximum password lengths for the admin password, the guest password, and the wireless encryption (WPA2) fields?

3) Are there any restricted characters for any of the password fields?

Thanks!

The question promts me to suggest you use enterprise products for your home. I never suggest home products in the work environment but I do suggest work products for the home if the "wants" are more in line with the types of features found there. Your case is one of those.

I used a DWL-2700AP as a home AP (more wireless coverage than consumer home products offer) until my kid developed the tumor.

Yes but the DFL-2500 cured it so all is well.

Jokes aside, good idea.

Actually the DGL-4500 will meet his HTTPS needs, as for the admin and Encryption key length, I believe they are different. The admin/user login can be up to 15 characters.
The WEP key field can be 64Bit @ 10 and 128 @ 26. The WPA field has a maximum of 63 alphanumeric and hex is 64.
All of this information can be found in the help file of the router.
