slow wireless speed
« on: May 06, 2010, 09:35:26 PM »

I have DSL through AT&T.  I just upgraded from 3.0Mbps to 6.0Mbps.

Before the upgrade I was seeing speed as follows:
Connected by wire: 2.5 Mbps down
Wireless : 1.8 Mbps down

After the upgrade I am seeing speed as follows:
Connected by wire: 5 Mbps down
Wireless: 1.2 Mbps down

Any suggestions?

I get the same results from my Macbook Pro, Iphone, or PC (with Vista)

Might take a little while for att to re-provision your line....

make sure you have filters on your phone jacks....

if you have XP do check teh RWIN settings using dslreports.com  tools   tweaktest

Your wired connections are spot on. If you get 80% of your posted DL speed, you're doing good.

As for you wireless, try inSSIDer and check signal strength and other devices in area. Maybe some conflicts happening.
