Wireless Radio - Init Failed
« on: February 24, 2008, 07:53:25 PM »

I have been using my DIR-655 with no problems for a short period now.  I have a windows vista laptop that has been connecting wirelessly with no problem.  The the other night the wireless went out.  I hadn't changed any settings.  The indicator light is no longer on the unit itself.  I can not find the signal when I have the computer search for it.  I went to the router setup page and found that under the DEVICE INFO that the wireless radio states "init failed".  I can't figure out how to get this running again.  I am connected via hardline cable right now.  I have not upgraded the firmware yet.  I am currently at 1.02.  I'm a relative novice.  I know just enough to get myself in trouble.

Contact technical services. It sounds like your unit is in need of replacement.

Thanks I will call technical support.  I figure that was my next step.  I emailed for an answer and was told I needed to do a hard reboot and that did not work.

I ran into this problem last nite.  Oddly, the next morning wireless worked.  The only thing that may have caused it was a lightning storm which happened last nite.  True? Running latest firmware 1.31N.
