adapter problem
« on: May 30, 2010, 08:15:04 AM »

I have a DWA-552 pci adapter and a DIR-615 router. For the past three years i have had no problem with this set up. my computer is in the basement almost directly under the router. i always had 300Mbps. but now all of a sudden windows says that i do not have internet connection and that its local only. i go up stairs (i have a couple computers hardwired) and i check to see if its a problem with the router. the router was and still is connected to the internet on my other two PCs. I go back downstairs and disconnect and reconnect, inter it back up. 15 minutes later its down to local connection only again... what gives?

i have never had this problem before for three years. as of right now im am writing this offline and i am about to dc/reconnect to post this.

Hi Mcspazatron,

Do a Factory Reset on the Router. I had that problem. That's what fixes it and then reenter all the customizations you had.
