Router Resets itself to a previous configuration
« on: June 16, 2010, 05:42:59 AM »

Behind my DIR-625-RevC (firmware 3.08), I'm running a Microsoft SBS2008 Server, with Exchange, Sharepoint, etc...  I recently mapped an additional port, TCP-993 to allow my Iphone to connect to the Exchange server via secure IMAP protocol.  For whatever reason, the router works fine for a few days, but then my 993 port mapping setting disappears.  All the other ports I've mapped for my Server are still in the configuration, but the new port doesn't stick.

It does appear the router resets itself when this happens (the uptime is usually less than 1 day by the time I catch the fact that it is no longer working).

I've tried multiple ways to save the config to the router without luck (including exporting the settings and importing them back to the router).

Anyone else seen this?  Any suggestions for resolving this one?  Next step is to move back to my old Linksys, but then I give up the wireless-N feature of this router.

There have been some problems with this router. Verify these setting for your D-Link router. Go into the settings for the router. Choose the "Advanced" tab at the top and then the "Advanced Wireless" at the left. Change the RTS Threshold to 2306 and the Fragmentation Threshold to 2306. Go to the "Setup" tab and then choose "Wireless Settings" at the left. Change settings to "Mixed 802.11n, 802.11g, and 802.11b". Then choose "Save Settings". The router will reboot.
