I have a wired PC that my family all shares (Windows with different user profiles). I'm using a DIR-655 as a firewall and as a router for a wireless network. We use a NetNanny-like product as a parental filter for the PC, but my son recently got an iPod touch. He can use this device to surf the web, which of course completely bypasses the PC-based filtering.
I looked at the "Parental Controls" features of the DIR-655, but it looks like they amount to just blacklisting or whitelisting everything, and manually managing an exception list. That seems like WAY too much work.
Now my best option is to use opendns.org as an alternate DNS. Since we have filtering software for the kids' profiles on the PC, I really don't want to use opendns on the PC. But I think it would be a good solution for my son's iPod, and it should be fine for the other wireless devices.
So, the question: can I configure the DIR-655 to use the existing default DNS for the wired network, but alternate DNS servers for any connections coming in through the wireless network?
Thanks in advance,
Bob
