DIR-825 Won't Connect to Internet
« on: July 16, 2010, 07:08:29 PM »

I'm not sure what happened, but my DIR-825 will no longer connect to the Internet nor can I connect to 192.168.0.1. I'm using the B version of the router with the 202 firmware, I believe. I have a Road Runner cable modem with three hardwired connections: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and DirecTV DVR. I also have one laptop and one Blackberry that wirelessly connect to the router. Everything has been working great for the past three months, but now I only get the orange light for the Internet. I've tried unplugging everything, using different cables, tinkering with my settings, etc. I did reset the router and reinstall to factory settings, which worked for a day before the orange light returned. There's nothing wrong with my Internet connection because I'm able to directly connect to it with no problems. Any advice or suggestions of what I should do next?

look at the router WAN connection and make sure it's set for DHCP, to automatically grab an IP address from your cable router.

Hi, I am getting the same problem with my DIR-825 after a couple of months, I all of a sudden lost Internet connection and trouble getting to the login screen.  I'm not sure if it is my Comcast Cable ISP at this point not provisioning the router or having the router's mac address in their blocked list.  The cable isp, said the problem was the router.  I had to buy another router this time a Netgear, and now for the time being am able to access the internet.  If the cable company was right, I have to return this router for another one that works.
