Port Forwarding Problem!!!!
« on: August 08, 2010, 11:19:58 AM »

Hello!

I have tried all ways and I can not open the doors of my Router D-Link DIR-615 (firmware v4.11).
In the Advanced Port Forwarding option I allows the 23023 and the 64182 ports but everything in it, the doors remains locked.

What its wrong?

Well, what is the setup of the network? - Is this router connected straight from the modem, or are there routers in front of it? Did you set a static IP of the computer, and are you sure you a currently forwarding the ports to the right IP Address? Did you open the ports on Windows Firewall (exceptions) of your computer?

The modem is connected to another router (Asus) and the latter is connecting to the router D-Link DIR-615.
If I disconnect the D-Link DIR-615 and just get on with the Asus router, the ports are properly open. I can therefore conclude that the problem is in D-Link.

No, the IP of my operator is a Dynamic IP.

Did you open the ports on Windows Firewall (exceptions) of your computer?

Yes, I open the ports in the Kaspersky Internet Security.

can you show the status page..  I'm wondering if your issue is due to having two routers and each is performing NAT?

I dont think having two routers, both using NAT is needed.  Is there a reason you are running two?  If possible can you just use one?

I'm assuming you might be using the D-Link for wireless and perhaps the Asus is not wireless?

Yes, the Asus is not wireless (distributes the signal to the first floor via network cable) and the D-Link is wireless (distributes the signal to the R/C through wireless).
I need to use the two routers.

The D-link just use it to broadcast wireless (Access Point?).

Can you help?

yes I would use the D-Link as an access point (disable it's DHCP server, static assign it a private IP in the same range as the asus network, and move the ethernet cable from the Asus to one of the 4 lan ports and not the internet port).

This procedure should be on pages 10+11 "Connect to another router" in the product manual.

Thanks, now is working.

Just one more thing: I canīt acess to the router D-Link page. http://192.168.0.1/ doesn`t work. Do you know why?

Thanks again!

did you assign a free ip from the same network the Asus is on to the D-Links Lan port?  It would need to be an ip outside of the DHCP range the Asus would hand out (or you might need to adjust the DHCP scope on the Asus).
