That's what the "rumours" seem to be telling so far.

I guess we'll find out this year at announcement time. I'm wondering if they indent to go thru with this, what are they going to do with the current 360 consoles and games?

I presume that either they would eventually cut off support for it and or access to there services if there intent is to using only "Always Online". I know I won't be supporting this if it happens. Will be a shame too. I've met a lot of good friends on XBL. Would hate to be cut off from gaming like this. Why Diablo 3 died or didn't get as much play as it probably should have. I was disappointed that I couldn't play off line like the predecessors.

I maybe can see some of the reasoning of the Always ON tactic. I think those who have probably abused the system and the games in attempt to cheat, mod and hack the games have probably and mostly brought this on. We as the other side of the coin are the casualty of it.

I do remember, Diablo II was mod'd and hacked pretty badly during it's time.

However, I don't agree with the used games and borrowed games from being continued. The games belong to US and even though the content is theres, we physically own the media and should be able to play them regardless of 1st user or borrowed used. We pay good money for these games and the life of the game should be until the disk is damaged or eventually gets re-sold. These greedy companies say they don't make a lot on these games however they really do. Millions and millions.
Especially when they run a series on one title. Which is another thing I hate. All the different games out there that are in series, competing against each other for our money and what happens, we buy one game, then another game we like, a competing game, comes out 3-6 months later with another completing series and we as games don't get the chance to fully enjoy the first game as it was intended before wanting to go get the other completing game. I honestly wonder if all the game developers really know what they or there companies they work for are doing. You'd think that developers would ensure that all there hard work in making the content in the games fully enjoyable and experienced by everyone, instead of only partially enjoyed, only to have the gamer stop playing due to another series competitor title release just a couple or few months down the line. Why I hated BO, release time and game, came out just after Reach. Ya I could have not bought BO, and shouldn't have in the first place. I did barely manage to get thru the campaign on Reach before BO came out. Just barely. However it would have been nice to maybe enjoy Reach a bit longer. Just seems like a greedy tug of war between companies to get the gamer money and the content of the games really goes to the way side should other competing games be released. An maybe thats the catch. How they market, get the most money out of us and who cares about the real experiences with the game content.
Maybe it's time to ride this one out and go else where. Might have to go back to the PC for some gaming.

Ok, I'm done, off soap box.

Have a nice day.
Thats so stupid, ban used games?
What about borrowing games?
New Xbox may not be worth it if this ends of being the case!
