Is there seriously no way of having a 360 headset without having a cord connected to the controller? What is the point of having a wireless controller, and then needing a wire to your mic? Or, in my case, I want to go wired. So I have to go HDMI from 360 to TV, audio connectors from 360 to Amp, USB from AMP to 360, and wire from controller to amp? On my PS3 I can use any bluetooth or driver-less USB headset. Why was this not fixed by the...5th version of the 360? ::end rant::
I am confused??? MS has a completely wireless mic but is not surround sound or even in stereo, just a wireless mic.
I second what furry said, I have Turtle beaches X-41 wireless surround sound headset, however it is wired to the controller. I think MS has some patent on that wireless part so no one else can use it unless it's backed by MS.
TB has a new completely wireless headset but is spendy:

There are a couple of others but I do not know off hand what model number.
How much do you want to spend for a headset?
My set up is like this and I have full Dolby Digital surround on the 360.
360>HDMI>TV>TV's Optical out to TB transmitter>to receiver.
Depending on what TV you have, you can use the TV optical out for Dolby digital by changing a couple of settings on the 360.
