Cannot connect when WPA/WPA2 is enabled :(
« on: August 19, 2010, 05:00:20 PM »

Hey, we recently got a DIR-615 H/W Ver.: D4 and whenever I set the security to WPA/WPA2 security My laptop (vista) and my computer (win7) cannot connect on the laptop it connects to the router but then does not connect to the internet and the computer does not connect at all and says "the setting on the computer do not match the ones on the access point" but they do and the laptop and computer both work when the router is in WEP mode which is a horrible security. Any help? cheers :)

Might I add I updated the firmware from 1.00 to 4.11 and it did not resolve the problem.

I'm using a Rev C1 unit with these settings:

WPS: Disabled
Security Mode: WPA-Personal
WPA Mode: WPA2 Only
Cipher: AES
MAC Filtering: Disabled
802.11 Mode: G only
Wireless Channel: Ch 8

I'm not sure if you did the manual setup or the CD-ROM setup, but try setting WPA2/AES and G or N only (not G & N). Disabling 'WI-FI PROTECTED SETUP (ALSO CALLED WCN 2.0 IN WINDOWS VISTA)' has helped others.
