having slow download speeds with pc and 360 &ps3
« on: August 27, 2010, 10:59:41 PM »

I just purchased a dlink 825 I have my xbox 360 connected via ethernet cord, ps3 wireless, laptop wireless. I have a very high speed connection via comcast. It took over an hour to download a 2 gig game on 360. It's going to take over an hour to download a 93mb file via my pc. Can anyone help me. Called tech support and they have no idea what they are doing.

thanks to all who reply.

My PS3 and Xbox have always downloaded slowly. I have both hooked up to a 1522 Dlink bridge (N) on the 5Ghz broadcast with 50% signal. The PS3 speed test has me all over the map (I have a 50/10 connection from Comcast) with results from 6-20 Mbps.

It was the same using my old G router.

I've always just assumed XBL and PSN don't supply very much bandwidth per user.

As far as over an hour to download 93Mb on your PC... what was the source of the download (website/torrent/etc?) Is this the laptop you mentioned connected via wireless? If so are you connected via N or G? How's the signal strength?
