Can't Stay Connected

Ok here is the story....I had my router for about a year with comcast and it never failed me ever. I had to disconnect my internet for about a month and then I had it reconnected today. I tried hooking up my router and now it doesn't seem to work. I had it connected and thought it worked. Every couple minutes I'll lose connection and the power light turns orange. Also, every time I try to connect to my router wireless from my laptop my router immediately turns orange and loses internet. I tried calling customer service but I have no patience with the guy I am talking to because I can't understand what he is saying and he can't understand what I am saying. It is not my modem, it works perfectly fine. Any ideas? bad router?
