DLNA media server set up problems
« on: December 10, 2010, 04:58:17 PM »

I'm a newb to forums so forgive me if I forget providing all the correct info.
D-Link dir-655 fw 2.00NA from 5/12/10

No problems with the router itself just the settings, for my Samsung bd-c6500 to see my pc(winxp sp3), or any other pc on my network for that matter.

Set up static IP on pc in question and the blu ray player, it has access to the internet, but when running the Samsung pc share manager software something is preventing the bdp from seeing the server.
I know it's the router becauseI put my old wrt54 back on with factory settings and the share manager worked fine, could share from my pc as promised.

Impossible to get tech support from Samsung, but thats a problem for their forum.
I'm missing some simple setting in the router setup for sure because all is well when I reconnect the linksys.
All connections are wired btw
Any help would be appreciated

Found a perfect solution.....bought a linksys e2000, 10 minutes after getting it home, was up and running and streaming to my samsung bd-c6500

I'll try to sell the 655 or turn it into an access point
thanks anyways
