connection issues

I don't understand this myself. I had this device working perfectly on an old xp sp3 desktop, I got a newer machine and installed xp sp2 on it, installed the drivers and everything worked no problem. As soon as I try to connect to a network it connects, tries to get an IP address but it never happens. It then begins to attempt this in an endless loop. What's wrong hear? I've reset the box, tried random open networks in the neighborhood. All the same issue. Help!
