How does Shareport Works ?

I hv installed on both DLINK Product - DIR655 and the DNS323 plug in for the shareport. I trieds to plug in an external HDD WD 350GB Passport but it did not detect it ?? Any suggestion or help on this ?

1 Possible thing that i could think of is the USB lacks the power to supply to the WD Passport to make it work.  >:(
