Did you check the link negotiation on your PC's NIC? Make sure you've applied the latest NIC driver. If you've enabled any security software which has the traffic filtering option, ensure you allow all the local traffics to pass-through.

When moving say like 4-5 files over wireless connected to the Dlink Dir655... like 4-5 avi files abouty 300mb each. Other PCs connected to the Router wireless or wired will not BE able to ACCESS the internet. I think this is quite a serious issue as many are experiencing this same issue with jerkiness, but mine with the firmware updated to 1.11 I believe is having this problem. Advise on settings please. No security is setup on PC or firewall but WPA is setup on Router.

After the transfer is complete, can the machines access the internet again?

Yes after the transfer is completed, I can access the internet again. The problem is when the other PCs on the office are transferring files as well like X-Ray data images [High Resolution] and videos, a file like 400-900+mb is common. Problem is when during the transferring of data, no one can use the internet web based application for filing and data entry.

If you increase the timeout duration of your browser, are you able to access the internet?  It may be that you are maxing out your local throughput leaving little bandwidth for internet browsing.  You may be able to browse and just not know it because IE or whatever browser you are using is timing out due to network congestion.

I'm probably jumping the gun here because you haven't provided enough information about the problem itself... but try turning on WISH with the HTTP and automatic boxes ticked.

I'm assuming the file transfer is saturating the wireless throughput (i.e. you are transferring between the LAN and not to WAN) but everything else is OK. See if this helps...

So turning on Wish will help. How do I do this and do this to enable the bandwiidth to be saturated?

Out bound QoS will also play a role in the traffic handling.
Also HOw many of these transfers are you omaking at once?

Drag and drop like 4-5 files ranging from 20mb to 3 gb and smaller files of 500-900MB
