Having constant reboots
« on: May 25, 2008, 01:26:05 PM »

Hi, I've been using DIR-625 (version A, 1.08 F/W) for almost a year now and I have never had any problem with it until the past week or so.  I've recently switched from a PPPoE ISP to a DHCP ISP and once I connected my router to the new service, it started rebooting at random times and it gets worse by days.

At first I thought it has to do with the new modem and the ISP, but I then I realized that the modem has never lost any connections but the router just reboots constantly. Could it be something wrong with my DHCP configuration?  Can someone please give me a solution?
Thank you so much.

Here's a log from after the router reboots:

Hi momousa,

This is what I was having with all the Dlink routers. It began with one I had before (I forgot its number), and it is continuing with this one.
I am not sure if it is the router or the provider in their effort to "adjust the bandwidth", i.e. narrowing it.
I was always keeping the router at the latest firmware, however it kept doing it.
They have this issue from before when if the router was having a buffer overflow, it would reboot. At some point it was a security issue for everybody.
I wonder if Dlink ever fixed it acceptably.
I am also on the search of a solution to that. It would be nice to find one once and for all.

Good luck!
