I'd like to elaborate on the particulars of my set-up.
First of all, I'm not using the DAP-1522 for interactive gaming; it is to be used purely as a bridge to my DIR-655 router in order to hook up three large desktops by wire into the DAP-1522, for home business purposes. I will be doing some interactive demos in web conferences, but I also want to upload and download bulk data by file transfers. Through my cable ISP I can download at 10 Mbps. If I use wireless directly into the DIR-655 I can achieve ~9+ Mbps which is goodness. However, if I go through the DAP-1522 with a speed test, I'm, lucky to get 3Mbps, usually more like 1-2Mbps.
Now I am using both the DAP-1522 and DIR-655 with default settings, which means the WISH function and the QOS functions in the DIR-655 are on at their default values.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to get higher throughput thru the DAP-1522, while simultaneously using a direct wireless connection into the router at some other part of the house.
Most of my tweaking, (adjustment of WISH and QOS) has degraded the systems and then I've had to resort to system resets for both units.
This doesn't work badly; I just need to improve the downloads through the DAP-1522 to reduce wait times, rather than acquire separate wireless adapters for the three desktops sitting side by side (these are 64 bit machines used for number crunching.)
This is the scope of my situation. Any help or redirection is appreciated.
