Expand the DHCP RESERVATIONS LIST?
« on: January 12, 2011, 12:45:35 PM »

Hi,

I have four places in the DHCP RESERVATIONS LIST, if I add a reservation via the "ADD DHCP RESERVATION" it pushes one of the four into an area called "NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS:"

Does this mean that a ip's reservation is still maintained and stays assigned once located in the "NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS:"?  I am hoping it does.  Does anyone know how many clients are allowed in the list?

Is the "DHCP RESERVATIONS LIST" expandable?

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to networking, however, I learn a bit each day and getting more confident.

Do clients in the DHCP RESERVATIONS LIST get a better wireless signal?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Regards,
Warren

Reservations just make sure the client gets the same IP address everytime. It has no effect on the strength of the signal.

I just put 5 into mine and they went in just fine.  Running an A2 on 1.35NA.

The reservations is best for things like Printers and Servers that you want to have the same address everytime, for a regular computer the reservation is not usually necessary.

There is a limit of roughly 20 devices in the DHCP reservations List.  I know it adds up fast with this gizmo and that....  I am about out in my list....I try to have most everything in my list so I can track internet use and such from what machines or devices I can remember.

They should show up in both the reservation list and the dhcp client list.  The DHCP client list should show them with thir IP and have a "Never" in the expires box.
