Deauthentication...again! please help!
« on: August 21, 2008, 06:39:29 AM »

Ok, here is the problem. I bought the DIR-655 router with the dwa-140 usb receiver to speed up my network. The problem is my wireless connection drops all the time. Most of the time while streaming video or audio content over my network.

The speed is good. constantly connected at 300 mbps.

I have done a million of changes in the router but nothing helps :( . turned off the firewall, changed the SSID, changed the wireless channel, and everything else I could think off.

Now FW 1.20 comes out so i gave it a try. After 5 minutes of good work...boom...lost connection. I don't know what to do anymore.

Does anyone here has the same problem as me? Does anyone has e genius solution?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi wesseln,

http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=1&pid=530

You purchased the wrong USB Receiver. While the DWA-140 USB Works, it doesn't match up with the DIR-655 Router. Get the Receiver or PCI Card that was designed for the DIR-655 Router.

Nah.....can't believe that....must be something else. If i go and search for DWA-140 on d-link.com I get the dir-655 as adviced product.

Thanks for your reply though

Hi wesseln,

http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=1&pid=652

Not adviced product, it saids works with.

But if you go here, looking at the DIR-655 Router:
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=530&sec=1   it states something different.

It points to the DWA-160 USB Adapter.
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=656&sec=1

Buy the Router, then buy its matching products from the standpoint or viewpoint of the Router, not the viewpoint of the Adapter.
