Question about functionality

Hey folks,

I'm looking at purchasing a DNS-323 with two 2TB WD Caviar Green hard drives.  I'd read all about the problems with the 4k sectors and realigning them.  I was originally wanting to do them in RAID 1 but evidently that's impossible with alignment, but I realized that there is really only a couple of folders that I would want redundancy with.

So does the DNS-323 allow you to set certain folders to sync between the drives if they are configured as two separate volumes?  OR did anyone ever figure out a way to realign the Caviar Green EARS drives in Raid 1?

I've been Googling for days, but there are so many different guides and corrections and yadda yadda yadda with different dates for aligning the sectors that I don't know what's current anymore.
